The Rant

A former co-worker coined the phrase when I offered to let her listen to one of my sermons on CD. She said, "Sure, I'll listen to Tom rant about Jesus." At first it sounded funny, but the more I thought about it the more it seemed to fit. That's what we, as preachers, pretty much do. We rant about Jesus. In 1 Corinthians 2:2 the Apostle Paul says, "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." That's it. Jesus. Who He is, and what He did, and what it means for us. That's my job, or calling, or anointing. To preach Christ. Jesus is in every book of the Bible. The entire volume speaks of Him. If you don't see Jesus, you're looking at it wrong.

So that's what I'm going to continue to do in this forum: Rant about Jesus.

My hope is to Rant every night by 9:00 pm, so check daily for new blogs.

Separation part 5

01/20/2018 17:53
Love is the tie that binds us together. It (HE) is really the only thing that can truly connect us. Especially when it seems like we are so intent on building walls and separating from each other. Look at Romans 13:8, "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath...

Separation part 4

01/19/2018 18:22
I think yesterday I was trying and trying and trying to say, "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's...

Separation part 3

01/18/2018 17:30
In reality, this whole idea that we could ever be separated from God (from LOVE) is pretty absurd. Look at John 1:3 (NLT), "God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him." Speaking of Jesus, right? The Word of God. Love. The King James puts it like this, "All things...

Separation part 2

01/17/2018 19:50
There is no separation between God and man. How could there be when God lives IN man? Which means there is no separation between LOVE and man. The very thing we are so desperate to find is the very thing that we have. The very thing that we ARE. Because make no mistake, we are not just loved. We...

Separation part 1

01/16/2018 17:38
If you read the title you might be able to guess what this Rant series is about. But you might be completely wrong. Because its about the LACK of separation between God and man. As seen most clearly in the person of Jesus. And applied to us because as He is, so are we in this world. So basically I...

Abundantly part 5

01/15/2018 19:49
Living out of your abundance is living from a posture of rest. Not chasing things you haven't got, but sharing the thing (love) that you have got. And in sharing it... experiencing it. That's how you truly live. That's how you enjoy the gift you've been given. I've mentioned this quote before but I...

Abundantly part 4

01/14/2018 20:49
Its all about living life to the fullest. That's why Jesus came--so that we might have life, and that more abundantly. That's why Jesus gave His life for us, and as us--so that we could experience His abundant, everlasting, eternal, Resurrection Life as He lives it in us, and through us, and as us....

Abundantly part 3

01/13/2018 20:07
One of the most important parts of living out of your abundance... is knowing what you have. Because you can't give what you don't have. And you can only give what you do have. If you think you haven't got anything, you sure can't share it. And you'll spend your Three T's (Time, Talent, Treasure)...

Abundantly part 2

01/12/2018 20:10
Living life to the fullest is about living out of your abundance. I think this is important because, what's that old saying? "We spend money we don't have on things we don't need to impress people that don't matter." Something like that. And you know I think people are about the only thing that...

Abundantly part 1

01/11/2018 19:56
The thing we seem to miss out on when we focus so much on the afterlife is that Jesus came to give us LIFE. Look at John 10:10, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." And notice that...
