Break Glass part 4

In order to get rid of this, "Break glass in case of emergency," mindset... this mindset where we try to do it ourselves until we get in over our heads... this idea where there are places or situations where God isn't present... we need to understand that on the cross Jesus gave us full access to God. Where once, in the Old Covenant, only the high priest could approach the mercy seat in the holiest of holy places in the tabernacle (and only if the blood of bulls and goats were accepted in order cover his sins), now we can, "...come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16). Or, to put it another way, "...he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace" (Ephesians 2:14-15). Jesus broke the glass! He broke down the wall of partition and made us all one with Him! He gave us full access to Daddy. That's what He meant when He said He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no man comes to the FATHER but by Him. He was talking about the Father-Son relationship that IS eternal life. He was talking about living a life of love by knowing and believing that we are loved, and loving each other with that same love. Coming to the Father can only be done by the Son. And we are that Son! We are the body of Christ. He is our true identity. And there is no separation between the Father and the Son. God promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. He took up abode in us. Jesus said, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30). There's no glass. There's no wall. There's no veil. There's nothing keeping us from enjoying the abundant life all the time. Well, I say there's nothing keeping us but really there IS something keeping us from enjoying it. We keep OURSELVES from enjoying it by trying to earn what is freely given. By trying to come into the sheepfold any other way but through the door. That's what a robber does. And the tragedy is that by doing so we are only robbing ourselves. We, like Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, hide from the presence of God. We get self-righteous, or full of pride, and we try to take the Kingdom by force. That was how it was... up until John the Baptist. Up until Jesus came on the scene. Then the entire ministry shifted from the Levitical priesthood (and the Law of Moses) to the Melchesidek priesthood (and the perfect law of liberty). Jesus rolled away the stone of the Law and called those who were dead in their trespasses and sins into life! HIS life! A life of being loved and loving one another. A life of rest. Of simply receiving and releasing. A life not of rules, but of relationship. A life where we don't have to break the glass in case of emergency, because we know Daddy is always with us and He's got our backs!
