Immutable part 3

The immutable truth of God's love for us is unchanging. It's true no matter what. But the key to the truth is KNOWING and BELIEVING it. Because even though God loves you no matter what... even though He always has and always will love you... if you don't know it, it doesn't really do much for you. Because if you don't know that you are loved, you will look for love in all the wrong places. You will do anything and everything in order to get that love. I think that's why we end up in such bad relationships so often. And I think that's why so many marriages end in divorce. We're looking for something in other people that we can only find within. And, listen, I'm not saying people can't make you happy. I'm simply saying you can't get things like grace, mercy, righteousness, peace, and joy from an external source. You can't get LOVE from an external source. It comes from within. It comes from the heart. So if you're depending on someone else for that stuff, they will inevitably let you down. Remember, love is our foundation. Our anchor. Our Rock. It's what we HAVE, and what we build on. It's not something we can get--or need to get--from someone else. It's what we give TO others. So that they can experience it, and so that we can experience it. So that it can become even more real by sharing it. It's not about getting, it's about giving. Love IS giving. That's my point. But you can't give what you don't have. And that's where the Holy Spirit comes in. Our love receptor. Because, remember, the immutable truth is that the Father loveth the Son and hath given all things into His hands. The immutable truth is that God loves you. But that kind of unconditional love seems too good to be true. We have trouble believing we already have it, and that's why we try to get it. We try to earn something that can't be earned. Something that must be received and released. Again--the Holy Spirit. Our love receptor. The Spirit of Sonship that equips and empowers us to know God as our Father. To cry out, "Abba, Father." To live in the context of Sonship. To stand tall on that Rock even when the wind and the rains come. To stop trying to be someone we're not in order to get something we haven't got. To be still and know that He is God. To know that God is love. To rest in the arms of our loving heavenly Father. To hear the still, small voice inside of us instead of the exterior voice of the world shouting lies at us. When you know the truth, and when you know that the truth is the truth no matter what, then it doesn't matter what anybody else says. It doesn't matter what the "facts" are. Because truth is higher than fact. The fact of the matter might be that the situation looks bad. But the truth is, it's all part of God's grand scheme. Sometimes we have to got through this to get to that. To learn and grow. To be able to help others through the same things. But if we're too busy running around like chickens with our heads cut off, we'll miss out. We'll rob ourselves of the gift we've been given. If you know the truth, you won't care about the lie. And if you believe the truth--that you are loved--that's when you've got something you can give. That's when you can love!
