The Journey part 3
Here's one of the coolest things about the never ending journey into the heart of the matter (which is the heart): It's a two-way street. It's not just us trying to "figure God out." It's not just us trying to complete the journey. It's a give and take. It's receive AND release. Jesus said it like this, "Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me..." (John 14:11). And then He added this little nugget in John 14:20, "At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you." See, it's not just that Jesus was in the Father. But also that the Father was in Him. Two-way street. Not just that He is in us, but that we are in Him. It's a complete lack of separation. 1 Corinthians 3:9 says it like this, "For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building." He's the carpenter, and we're the building. We're the house that He built for Himself to live in. Remember, it's not us about completing the journey. It is finished. But it is also never ending. We're not SUPPOSED to finish it. We're supposed to ENJOY it. As we work together with God. Remember, Jesus said He didn't do anything that He didn't see His Father do. Not because He was trying to walk in Daddy's foot steps, but because when Daddy did something He did it THROUGH Jesus. He did it AS Jesus. And now that we are in Jesus and Jesus is in us, the same thing applies to us. Jesus is the truth about God, and He's the truth about us. He's the Truth, with a capital T. So when we want to understand who WE are, we need to understand who HE is. God in the flesh. Love in a body. God in YOUR flesh. Love in YOUR body. That's your true identity. That's who you really are. And rather than spending (wasting) this everlasting life trying to be someone you're not, you ought to just be who you are. You ought to let Jesus be Himself in you, and through you, and as you. Stop struggling and start flowing. Stop trying to get somewhere and let the light shine so you can see where you already are. You're already complete in Him. Already in heaven, because heaven is already in you. And I know that when you get a revelation in an area of your life it can feel like change--like a big life-altering change--but I'm telling you the change took place 2,000 years ago when we were conformed into the image of God's Son. Conformed into the image that we were originally made in. The journey isn't, "You're evil and you need to change to good." The journey is, "You're complete in Him, now let's find out what it MEANS to be complete in Him." The journey isn't trying to be someone else so you can earn Daddy's love. The journey is Daddy's love inside you filling you up to overflowing so that Daddy's love comes out through you. Eternal life is knowing the Father and the One whom He sent. Not trying to be a Son, but KNOWING that you are His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased! You're in Him... and He's in you!
